27 Aug 2008 — Volunteer Eastern Europe Goodwill Tour in Romania

The Scientology Volunteer Eastern Europe Goodwill Tour continues its work in Romania, where it is teaming up with other volunteer groups and nonprofit organizations to help the people of the country.

Dedicated to helping individuals improve the quality of their lives, the Scientology volunteers provided free training to members of Asociatia il Chicco, to help them establish better communication with the children they work with.

Some of the volunteers of Centrul Medicare Reabilitare, an organization that works with victims of torture, have taken courses, based on the Scientology Handbook, to help people overcome their trauma.

Volunteers from a group called Caritas learned how to salvage relationships and help people recover from the spiritual or emotional factors that cause or prolong illness.

Scientology Volunteer Ministers operate on a purpose expressed by Scientology Founder, L. Ron Hubbard, some 30 years ago, when he wrote: "If one does not like the crime, cruelty, injustice and violence of this society, he can do something about it. He can become a Volunteer Minister and help civilize it, bring it conscience and kindness and love and freedom from travail by instilling into it trust, decency, honesty and tolerance."
